Sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ontario) made nine saves, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to American International College on Tuesday in the regular-season finale at Abdow Field.

  • Rose made all four saves she needed to in the opening half.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Following a scoreless opening half, the Yellow Jackets struck three times in the second stanza, as they found the back of the net in the 57th, 76th and 79th minutes.
  • AIC held a 20-13 advantage in shots, including 15-6 after halftime.
  • The Yellow Jackets also owned a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
NOTES
  • SNHU finished tied for fourth place with Bentley University, but lost the tiebreaker due to head-to-head results and wound up as the No. 5 seed for the Northeast-10 Championship, which begins Sunday.
  • Southern New Hampshire entered the match unbeaten in six of its last seven (5-1-1).
  • AIC improves to 4-1-2 on its home turf against the Penmen, dating back to 2009.
  • Junior Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) had recorded at least one point in 11 of 12 matches entering the day. It is only the third time in 16 contests this season she has failed to notch a point.
  • The Penmen dips to 43-14-9 (.720) over their last 66 matches dating back to the 2016 campaign.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The fifth-seeded Penmen will take on fourth-seeded Bentley in a Northeast-10 Championship semifinal on Sunday, Nov. 10 (1 p.m.).
