Sophomore Cole Stewart (Alpharetta,Ga.) broke a 2-2 tie with a goal midway through the third period, but Becker College tallied with a man advantage to tie in the final minute, and then beat Southern New Hampshire in overtime 4-3 on Saturday night at The Ice Den in Hooksett, N.H.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Sophomore Dominic DiMambro (Troy, Mich.) opened the scoring with his first career goal at 10:28 to put SNHU up 1-0. Sophomore Gustaf Arfelt (Stockholm, Sweden) assisted.
- The Penmen extended the lead to 2-0 at 18:00 of the first when senior DJ Goldstein (Wareham, Mass.) blasted one home off a perfect set by freshman James Nash (Hampton, N.H.).
- Becker College scored the only goal of the second period. Freshman Mikey Wilson's first career tally came off a pass from Colby Audette to bring the Hawks to within 2-1.
- The visitors tied the game at 8:55 of the third period on a power-play goal by Jason Diamond.
- Stewart scored at 12:57 of the final period after intercepting a pass at center ice, and racing in to notch his fourth of the season.
- With SNHU's Joe Fiorino (Willow Grove, Pa.) sent off for a hit to the head, Becker pulled its goalie, scoring the equalizer at 19:08 on a six-on-four with Romain Wild making it 3-3.
- The overtime winner came at 1:53 of the extra session with Colby Audette scoring with the Penmen still short a skater.
NOTES
- SNHU trails the all-time series with Becker 3-6-1.
- SNHU's power-play, which included a pair of two-man advantages, went 0-for-7. Becker was 3-for-7 on the power-play.
- After a win on November 22 at Saint Anselm, SNHU was 6-1 and winners of six straight. The Penmen have now dropped six straight games, but are tied for second in the NE10 at 4-2-0.
- Sophomore JT Kossakowski (Elburn, Ill.) made his third start in net for Southern New Hampshire, making 22 saves.

- The Penmen return to action with a pair of NE10 games next weekend at home against Stonehill College. The teams play at 7:20 p.m. on Friday at the Ice Den, and then again at 3:20 p.m. on Saturday.
