Freshman George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) scored his team-leading 12th goal in SNHU's 6-2 loss to NE10 rival Saint Michael's Saturday at The Ice Den.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS

• The Penmen fell behind 5-0 after two periods before Thurston came up with his 12th goal of the season at 2:18 of the third period.
• Junior Kyle Galloway (Sugar Hill, Ga.) and freshman Joe Biddle (Andover, Mass.) earned assists on the goal.
• Thurston's power-play marker was his ninth, tied for most in the Northeast-10.
• Sophomore Joe Fiorino (Willow Grove, Pa.) had the other SNHU goal at 9:28 of the third period.  Freshman Matt Monreal (Wauwatosa, Wisc.) was credited with the assist. 
• Saint Michael's junior Niall Foster had a goal and an assist and senior Tim Decker made 40 saves in net.

NOTES

• The Penmen outshot the Purple Knights 42-37.
• SNHU went 1-for-6 on the power-play, Saint Michael's was 1-for-5.
• The Purple Knights completed a sweep of SNHU, winning the three meetings.  SNHU trails the all-time series 24-43-6.

• The Penmen will meet Assumption College for a home-and-home next Friday and Saturday.  Friday's game will be contested at 7:20 p.m. at The Ice Den.
