The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was defeated by 18th-ranked Florida Southern College, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
NOTES
- After beginning the season 5-0, SNHU has dropped two straight.
- The Penmen are the No. 2-ranked team in the ITA East Region Rankings, while the Mocs are 18th in the country.
- Senior Willem van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) is No. 14 in the nation in singles, as well as the top-ranked player in the East Region, but did not play. Classmate Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) is 49th in the country and No. 2 in the region, and was toppled by Erik Nordblom, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 1. As a doubles tandem, the duo is sixth, regionally, and was edged, 6-4, by Nordblom and Andres Cabezas, at No. 1.
- Sophomore Emmanuel Vacalares (Cagayan de Oro, Philippines) is No. 19 in singles in the region. He fell to Valentin Hertweck, 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-7), at No. 3.
