#7 Women's Soccer Rallies Late To Tie Mercy 1-1

Graduate student Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) found the top of the net off a pass from Sophomore Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) in the 79th minute as #7 Southern New Hampshire rallied to earn a non-conference tie with Mercy College on Tuesday night at Penmen Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Mercy took a 1-0 lead at 26:22 of the first half on the fifth goal of the season for graduate student Nikki Bermudez, who scored on a rebound in front of the SNHU net.
  • The play that led to the Penmen goal at 79:44 started with a deep feed won by junior Jordan Butters (Beverly, Mass.)  Butters worked the ball to Anderson, who found Patterson for the goal.
  • With just under two minutes to play in the second overtime, junior Allison Beaumont (Milton, Ontario) was able to work a pass through the crease, but a shot by Anderson hit the cross bar.

  • Sophomore goalkeeper Z Kaplan (Smithtown, N.Y.) made six saves.
  • Mustang netminder Melissa Torres had four saves.
  • Mercy had a 10-9 shot advantage and 7-5 on shots on goal.

NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, which is ranked 7th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II National Top 25 Poll, is now 9-0-1.
  • There have now been seven all-time meetings with Mercy College since 2016, and the Penmen have a slim 3-2-2 lead all-time.
  • Patterson moves into a tie with Butters for the team lead with five goals.
  • The Penmen are still outscoring their opponents, 20-6, so far this season.
