Freshman Annemartine Christis ('S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) scored a goal for a third consecutive game, but Southern New Hampshire fell 6-3 to Pace University on Saturday in an NE10 field hockey contest in Pleasantville, N.Y.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU fell behind 3-0 at halftime, but scored the first two goals of the second half to close to 3-2.  Christis collected a loose ball and found the far corner to make it 3-1.
  • SNHU trimmed its deficit to one about two-and-a-half minutes later when Skelley scored on a penalty stroke.
  • The Penmen would not get any closer as the Setters reeled off three straight goals before Whelan tipped in a pass from Christis midway through the fourth quarter to make it 6-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Krista Dietz scored the first two goals for Pace, one of four players to find the net in the contest.
  • Pace owned a 20-8 shot advantage, including 13-5 in shots on goal.
  • The Setters also drew more penalty corners than the Penmen (17-6).
NOTES
  • Pace leads the all-time series with the Penmen 5-1.
  • The goal by Skelley was the first of her career for SNHU.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen are back home Friday, Sept. 24 (4:30 p.m.) when they play host to Adelphi University in a make-up of the postponed contest from Sept. 12 at Larkin Field.
