Graduate student Natalie Kallmunzerova (Prague, Czech Republic) won both her matches and clinched the victory at No. 1 singles, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team moved to 3-0 with a 5-2 victory against Adelphi University on Saturday afternoon at the Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Kallmunzerova downed Louisa Junghanns, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 singles and combined with junior Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic) for a 7-6 (7-5) No. 1 doubles victory against Barbie Quagliardi and Caterina Federici that clinched the point.
- Hubickova pulled out a 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 win against Quagliardi at No. 2 singles.
- Senior Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) took care of Federici, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 singles and also teamed with sophomore Guntra Upeniece (Riga, Latvia) for a 6-2 No. 2 doubles win against Junghanns and Amanda Franstedt.
- Junior Isabella Andrade (Cochabamba, Bolivia) dominated at No. 4 singles against Franstedt, 6-0, 6-1.
- Upeniece was a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victor against Carolina Chaves at No. 6 singles.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire begins the season 3-0 for the second straight year.
- The Penmen improve to 9-9 all-time against Adelphi and have now won two of the last three meetings.
- Hubickova betters her career NE10 mark to 19-3, while Etienne is now 27-6.

- The Penmen return to action Sunday, Sept. 26 (1 p.m.) when they take on American International College.
