Results: Women's 6k  -  1st of 19 (52 points)

Southern New Hampshire Women's Cross Country won the NCAA East Regional Championship on Saturday with graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) leading the way by winning the race.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Corcoran ran a 21:55.40
  • Junior Kaitlyn O' Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) ran a 22:27.20 to finish 3rd
  • Junior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) wound up seventh in 22:37.90
  • Junior Hannah Bradbury (Seekonk, Mass.) ran 23:15.50 for 18th place
  • Graduate student Rose Pitman (Sherill, N.Y.) ran 23:26.10 for 23rd place
  • Senior Sarah Zarakotas (Deerfield, N.H.) ran 23:30.90 for 25th place
  • Freshman Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.)  ran 23:46.50 for 33rd place
NOTES
  • The top three teams were SNHU, Roberts Wesleyan (69 points), and Daemen College (86 points).   All advance to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.
  • Corcoran won the race by 14 seconds with Fransiscah Cherotich of AIC running second and her time was the 6th fastest in program history.  Corcoran has run five of the top six 6k races for the Penmen.
  • SNHU turned in personal best performances on Saturday by O'Rourke, Bradbury, Pitman and Obernesser.
  • The Penmen, the Northeast-10 Champs on November 6, win the NCAA East Regional for the first time.  SNHU also qualified for the Division II Cross Country Championships in 2019.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The NCAA Women's Division II Cross Country Championship will be held on Fri. December 2 in Seattle, Washington.
