Sophomores Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) and Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) scored goals, but SNHU fell 3-2 in double overtime at #6 Assumption University on Wednesday night in Worcester.

KEY MOMENTS
  • The Penmen took advantage of an Assumption turnover in the opening minute, leading to a long pass to Christis, who scored for a 1-0 lead.
  • The Greyhounds scored a pair of goals in the second quarter by Lily Daly and Christina Leonard to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.
  • SNHU tied the game at 2-2 with about nine minutes to play when Bates took the ball after a foul, and knocked in a reverse chip.
  • Leonard's second goal of the game was the game-winner in the second overtime when she took a pass from Mia Salah and fired home the shot.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Assumption had a 15-7 shot advantage, including 6-3 on goal.
  • The Greyhounds had a 7-0 edge on penalty corners.
NOTES
  • Christis now has 19 points to lead the Penmen (six goals, seven assists).  Bates is second on the team with 11 points (four goals, three assists).
  • Assumption leads the all-time series with the Penmen 8-2.  
  • The Penmen had won three consecutive games heading into the contest. 
  • 11 of the 15 SNHU games this season have been decided by one goal.   The Penmen have now gone into overtime in four of the past seven games, winning two and losing two.
