Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) batted home the overtime winner as SNHU field hockey continued a playoff push with a 3-2 win over American International College on Larkin Field Wednesday night.

KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU dominated the opening few minutes, taking the first five shots of the game.
- AIC finally launched some offense in the closing four minutes of the first quarter. After consecutive shots were saved, Na'Bree Wallace worked the ball free in front of the net and her pass led to the first goal by Natalia Fiato.
- The Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 lead with 1:10 to play in the half when Shannon Cormier carried in from mid-field, and found the upper left corner of the cage with her one-timer.
- The Penmen cut the lead to 2-1 with 9:44 remaining in the third quarter. Diaz de Vivar scored the goal, taking a deep pass from Bussemaker.
- SNHU drew even at 2-2 less than two minutes later when Christis rolled one in front of the net that Lovejoy knocked home.
- After initially being stopped by AIC goalie Taylor Wildes, Bates was able to push the rebound into the goal to win the game.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SNHU had a 22-14 shot advantage, including 13-11 on goal.
- The Penmen had a 12-5 advantage on penalty corners.
NOTES
- The Penmen played a fourth consecutive overtime contest, and sixth of the season.
- SNHU takes a 5-4 lead in the all-time series with AIC.
- With one game to play, SNHU is tied for eighth-place with Mercy, but own a tie-breaker with the Mavericks after a 3-2 win on October 15.
- Bussemaker's assist was her first career point for the Penmen.
- Bates tallied her fifth goal, Diaz de Vivar scored her fourth, and Lovejoy her third of the season.
