Dakota Mulcay (Goffstown, N.H.) each hit home runs and drove in three runs as #11 SNHU baseball won 10-5 over Saint Anselm College in non-conference action Wednesday at Penmen Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Penmen took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Mercedes singled, advancing to third on a single by Henrie. LaRocca's sacrifice fly produced the game's first run.
- SNHU added a pair in the third inning to take a 3-2 lead. LaRocca drove in a run with a single.
- Mercedes and Mulcay both homered in the fifth, and the Penmen added four more runs in the sixth inning.
- The Hawks made some noise in the top of the ninth, cutting the SNHU lead to 10-5 on a three-run homer by Brady Doran.
- Redshirt junior George Welch (Derry, N.H.) drew the starting assignment, and worked three scoreless innings before being lifted in the fourth after a two-run double by Saint Anselm DH Nolan Elmore. Jared Reminder (0-1) took the loss for the Hawks.
- Gilbert, redshirt sophomore Nick Assad (Franklin, Mass.), graduate student Taylor Lepard (Toronto, Ontario), and freshman Frankie Sanchez (Kendall Park, N.J.) all worked in relief. Lepard struck out the side in a perfect eighth inning in relief. The staff combined for 12 strikeouts.
NOTES
- Mercedes hit his third home run of the season. Mulcay's homer was the 29th of his career (most all-time at SNHU), but just his first of the season.
- Redshirt sophomore Nick Schwartz (Massapequa, N.Y.) had a single to extend his hit streak to seven games.
- The Penmen extend its win streak against Saint Anselm College to 25 games. SNHU leads the all-time series 56-32.
- The teams will meet in an NE10 four-game series April 8-10 at Saint Anselm College.
UP NEXT
- SNHU will play three non-conference games at the University of New Haven starting with a game on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Penmen will next play at home against Saint Michael's College on April 15.
