(Waltham, Mass.) – Senior Dakota Mulcay (Goffstown, N.H.) homered, part of a 15-hit attack, as #12 SNHU Baseball rallied for a 7-5 win at Bentley University Friday. The Penmen have won eight consecutive games to improve to 26-7 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Mulcay hit his third home run of the season, and 31st of his career, a solo shot in the second inning for a 1-0 lead.
The Falcons took the lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning on RBI singles by Steve Rizzuto and Charlie Auditore.
The Penmen were held in check by Bentley starter Jimmy Hodgson, finally pushing back into the lead with two runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Five consecutive Penmen reached to start the inning. Poole and Rivera singled, and Mercedes doubled to tie the game. After senior Sam Henrie (Middleboro, Mass.) drew a walk, Schwartz delivered the game-winning two-run single to make it 4-2.
Poole started the eighth inning with a single. Rivera reached on a fielders choice, advancing to third on a stolen base and passed ball. Mercedes singled to make it 5-2, and he scored when Schwartz reached on an error.
Bentley did rally with three in the bottom of the eighth inning to cut the lead to 6-5.
In the top of the ninth, redshirt junior Alex Kennedy (Braintree, Mass.) doubled and scored on a wild pitch.

NOTES

SNHU, on an eight-game win streak, is ranked 12th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Poll and still sits atop the NCBWA East Region Poll.
The Penmen improve to 33-41 all-time against Bentley.
Schwartz extended his hit streak to 21 games with three more hits. His team-leading batting average is now hitting .422.
SNHU has 36 hits in the first 18 innings of the series.
In the NE10's Northeast Division, the Penmen (12-2) lead Franklin Pierce (9-4) by 2.5 games after the Ravens won 7-4 in 11 innings at Stonehill.

SNHU and Bentley University will finish the series with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at Noon.
