(Manchester, N.H.) – Saint Anselm used a seven-run fourth inning to propel themselves to a 13-11 win over the #12 SNHU baseball team in game two of an NE10 series. The teams conclude the series with a doubleheader on Sunday.
HIGHLIGHTS:

- Graduate student Idelson Taveras (Lawrence, Mass.) - 2-for-4. 3 runs scored
- Redshirt sophomore Nick Schwartz (Massapequa, N.Y.) - 1-for-5, HR
- Redshirt sophomore Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) – 1-for-2, HR, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored
- Redshirt sophomore Danniel Rivera (New Britain, Conn.) 2-for-5, 2 RBI, 1 run scored
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- SNHU jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Hawks would even come to the plate. The big hit in the inning was a three-run homer to right field by Caraher.
- The Hawks responded with a single run in the second inning.
- A two-run single by Rivera extended the Penmen lead to 7-1 in the top half of the fourth.
- St. Anselm exploded for seven runs in the home half of the seventh to take an 8-7 lead. The inning included a pair of home runs, five hits and a critical throwing error by the Penmen.
- SNHU tied it in the fifth on a Schwartz solo home run to left center.
- The Hawks scratched across a single run in the sixth, three runs in the seventh and a run in the eighth to extend the lead to 13-8.
- The Penmen made it interesting as Chacho smashed a 3-run homer to center field to cut the lead to 13-11, but they would not be able to get any closer.
NOTES
- The Penmen lost for the first time in 27 meetings against the Hawks, a string which dates back to April 2013.
- Josh Roberge (Chelmsford, Mass.) started and allowed eight runs, five earned on eight hits. He walked three, struck out three in 3.2 innings.
- Parker Hansen (Granby, Conn.) earned the loss in relief as he allowed one run on four hits in 2.1 innings.
- The Penmen lost for just the sixth time this season. They are 4-1 after a loss this season
