Ryan Coady (Braintree, Mass.) picked up his sixth goal of the season, but Southern New Hampshire dropped the opening game of a weekend set 6-1 to Saint Michael's College Friday night at The Ice Den Arena.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Purple Knights took a 1-0 lead just 90 seconds into the game on a goal by Brennan McFarland.
- SNHU's goal came in a power-play situation at 8:29 of the opening period. Thurston sent a pass to Amante for a one-timer that Coady tipped in to make it 1-1.
- Saint Michael's responded with three goals in the final two minutes of the first period to take a 4-1 lead. Jeremy Routh scored two of the goals, one coming on a penalty shot with :35 left in the period after the Penmen were called for covering the puck in the crease.
- Routh completed his hat trick at 1:04 of the third period, and Zach Taylor added one more for the Purple Knights.

- Saint Michael's has won two of three with the Penmen after the teams split the games played in Colchester, Vermont in early November.
