The top-seeded and top-ranked College of Saint Rose broke a scoreless deadlock with 7:02 remaining with a penalty kick goal and added an insurance marker just under 90 seconds later, as it escaped the fifth-seeded Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team with a 2-0 victory in the second round of the NCAA Division II women's soccer tournament Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Field.

- The match was scoreless all the way into the 80th minute when junior Lauren Conti (Schenectady, N.Y.) kept the season alive for the time being, clearing a would-be score off the goal line and out of harm's way.
- The deadlock would be short-lived, as an 83rd-minute take-down on the far left side of the box resulted in a penalty kick for Saint Rose that it would bury to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Golden Knights all but put it away 1:24 later when Krysten McGuffey tight-roped the right endline and dished to the middle of the box for Brielle Zink, who calmly collected the ball and put it in the open net.
