George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) tallied in the second period, but the Penmen fell to Franklin Pierce University 3-1 in the first round of the Northeast-10 playoffs on Tuesday at The Ice Den Arena Tuesday night.

- It took Franklin Pierce just 15 seconds to take a lead they would not give up.
- Rumsey took the puck the length of the ice and scored to make it 1-0.
- The teams exchanged goals midway through the second period. Rumsey's rebound shot made it 2-0 but Thurston answered for the Penmen two minutes later with a clean-up of a shot by Pomposelli.
- A power-play goal by Anthony Nikolopoulos at 18:41 of the second period made it 3-1, and neither team scored in the final 20 minutes.
