Brandon White (Simsbury, Conn.) both allowed just one run in their starts, as the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team swept a Monday doubleheader from Assumption University at Rocheleau Field to complete the four-game series sweep. SNHU won, 6-4, in seven innings in the opener and then posted a 7-2 victory in the second game.

KEY MOMENTS – GAME 1
- Rivera set the tone right from the start, leading off the game with a solo home run to center to give Southern New Hampshire a 1-0 lead.
- The Penmen doubled their lead in the second when freshman Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) led off with a base hit, moved to third on a single to center by freshman Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba), and scored when Wouters stole second and the catcher's throw down was errant.
- Rivera helped make it 3-0 in the fifth, as he walked, stole second and scored on Moreno's single through the left side.
- After Assumption grabbed one back in the sixth on a Jared Berardino home run to left, SNHU looked to put it out of reach with a three-run seventh. Rivera started it with a run-scoring single through the left side, Moreno plated the second run with a sacrifice fly to left and La Rocca capped the scoring with an RBI double to right that made it 6-1.
- Assumption slashed its deficit to two with a three-run double off the bat of Christopher Rabias, but, with the tying run at the plate, junior Trevor Anibal (Bedford, N.H.) retired the next three batters in order, including two via the strikeout.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
- La Rocca finished 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
- Rivera (two RBI, three runs, home run, walk) and Moreno (two RBI, double) were both 2-for-3.
- Wouters was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run scored.
- Pisano went 1-for-3 with a run.
- Sophomore Harry Vargas Segura (Bronx, N.Y.) was 0-for-2, but walked and scored a run.
- Junior Griffin Gilbert (Concord, N.H.) was charged with three runs on a hit and two walks, while striking out one in an inning-plus.
- Anibal recorded his second save with a pair of strikeouts in a one-hit scoreless frame.
KEY MOMENTS – GAME 2
- SNHUÂ again seized a 1-0 lead when Schwartz doubled to right-center to lead off the second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single through the right side by junior Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.).
- RBI singles in the top of the third from Moreno and Schwartz widened the gap to 3-0.
- An error in the fifth, wild pitch in the sixth and a Schwartz RBI single in the seventh led to three more Penmen runs that made it 6-0.
- Schwartz answered an Assumption run in the seventh with a solo shot in the ninth that brought the score to 7-1.
- The Greyhounds would add another run in the home half on a Cole Durkan long-ball.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 2
- Schwartz finished 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, a home run and a double.
- La Rocca (run, walk) and Rivera (run, walk, double, triple) were both 2-for-4.
- Moreno went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored.
- Caraher was 1-for-5 and knocked in a run.
- Freshman Parker Lendrum (Exeter, N.H.) gave up one run on two hits, while striking out two and walking a pair in two innings.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire receiving votes in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 and Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll, has now won 12-in-a-row.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with the Greyhounds, 50-24-2. The Penmen have won 11 of the last 12, including five straight. SNHU has also captured 14 of 16 in Worcester since the start of the 2012 season.
- The Penmen continue to produce at the plate, having scored 287Â runs in 31Â games (9.3).
- Rivera's home run is his fourth of the season and 17th of his career, while Schwartz' is his sixth of the year and the 15th of his career.
- Rivera has hit safely in 16 of his last 17, including nine straight.
- Moreno has hit safely in nine of 10, but La Rocca has a hit in five of his last six.
- Over his last two starts, White is 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA, allowing four runs – three earned – on five hits over 14 innings, while striking out 14 and walking four.
