Josh Roberge (Chelmsford, Mass.) both turned in stellar seven-inning outings, as the No. 15/26 Southern New Hampshire University baseball team extended their winning streak to a program-record 20 games with a doubleheader sweep of Saint Michael's College on Friday afternoon at Doc Jacobs Field. SNHU rolled to a 16-4 victory in game one, before recording a 4-1, seven-inning win in the second game.

KEY MOMENTS – GAME 1
- Southern New Hampshire drew first blood in the top of the third on a two-out RBI single to left by freshman Kyle Lavigne (Bedford, N.H.).
- SNHU sent 13 to the plate and hung a seven-spot in the fourth to grab some early breathing room. Mercedes led off with a walk and sophomore Harry Vargas Segura (Bronx, N.Y.) followed by reaching on an error, before Rivera hammered a three-run homer to left-center to make it 4-0. La Rocca drew a one-out walk two batters later, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a run-scoring single up the middle off the bat of Schwartz. Junior Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) immediately followed with a two-run blast to right-center and the lead was quickly 7-0. Vargas Segura worked a bases-loaded walk to cap the scoring.
- The Penmen broke it wide open with a six-run fifth that included a Vargas Segura RBI single and was highlighted by a Rivera two-run drive that increased the lead to 14-0.
- Solo shots to left-center from Mercedes in the sixth and Pisano in the eighth widened the gap to 16-0.
- Saint Michael's made it on to the board in the home half of the eighth on a Terence Moynihan grand slam.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
- Wouters was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a walk.
- Rivera (five RBI, two runs, two home runs, walk) and Schwartz (RBI, three runs, walk) each were 2-for-4.
- Caraher finished 1-for-3 with two RBI, two runs, a home run and a pair of walks.
- Vargas Segura (two RBI, two runs, two walks), Pisano (RBI, run, home run) and sophomore Zack Luongo (Londonderry, N.H.) all went 1-for-1.
- Mercedes was 1-for-4 with two RBI, two runs, a home run and a pair of walks.
- Sophomore Anderson Moreno (Bronx, N.Y.) finished 1-for-5.
- Junior Mike La Rocca (Vero Beach, Fla.) went 0-for-2, but walked four times and scored a pair of runs.
- Freshman Austin Trumpour (Jensen Beach, Fla.) allowed four runs on four hits, while striking out four and not walking a batter, over two innings of work.
KEY MOMENTS – GAME 2
- Southern New Hampshire scored first in the top of the second when Schwartz led off with a double to left and scored on a Wouters two-out single through the left side.
- The scored stayed that way until the sixth when Mercedes led off with a solo homer down the left field line. With runners at the corners and two out later in the frame, a double steal scored Rivera to make it 3-0.
- Saint Michael's grabbed one back in the home half, but Pisano got it back with a lead-off long-ball in the seventh, before Roberge struck out the side in the seventh to end it.

- Mercedes went 2-for-3 with an RBI, run and a home run.
- Pisano (RBI, run, home run), Schwartz (run, double), Wouters (RBI) and La Rocca all finished 1-for-3.
- Rivera was 1-for-4 and scored a run.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, ranked 15th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 and 26th in the Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll, has now won 20-in-a-row, which sets a new program record and extends the nation's longest winning streak. SNHU won 19 consecutive games from March 31-April 24, 2016.
- SNHU clinches an NE10 Championship postseason berth with the two wins and two Saint Anselm College losses Friday, and could clinch the Northeast Division as early as Saturday.
- The Penmen improve to 40-2 all-time versus Saint Michael's and have won 32 straight meetings, including 12 consecutive games in Colchester.
- SNHU has scored first in 19 of the 20 games during the winning streak, including the last 15-in-a-row. The Penmen have also scored in the first inning in six of their last eight.
- Rivera's two home runs give him six on the season and 19 for his career, tying him for fourth in SNHU's all-time record book.
- Mercedes' pair of long-balls are his second and third of the season, as well as the 10th and 11th of his career.
- Pisano now has six homers in his first season with the Penmen.
- Caraher's home run was his eighth of the year and the 16th of his career. He now has five bombs in his last six games.
- Schwartz continues to lead the NE10 in hitting (.428) and RBI (49), while tying for fifth in home runs (8).
- Rivera has hit safely in 23 of his last 24, including 16 straight. He has 10 multi-hit games during his current streak.
- La Rocca had his 10-game hitting streak snapped in game one, but has a hit in 12 of his last 14.
- The Penmen continue to produce at the plate, having scored 370 runs in 39 games (9.5)
