#25 Women's Lax Ends Regular Season with 15-8 Loss at #6 Le Moyne; Collects 8-Seed

Senior Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) and classmate Angelina Graziano (Riverhead, N.Y.) each scored three goals, as the 25th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season with a 15-8 loss to No. 6 Le Moyne College on Saturday at Ted Grant Field. The Penmen receive the No. 8 seed in the NE10 Championship, which begins Tuesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After Le Moyne scored the game's first goal 4:09 in, Cole answered 50 seconds later to tie it. Graziano scored with 51 seconds to play in the opening quarter to pull the Penmen within 3-2.
  • The Dolphins scored three straight to begin the second quarter, with Cole finding the back of the net with 10 seconds on the clock to trim the SNHU deficit to 6-3.
  • Renaud opened the second-half scoring just over six minutes into the third quarter to make it 6-4, but Le Moyne netted the next four before Renaud tallied again with nine seconds left to shrink the gap to 10-5.
  • Each team scored three goals over the opening 11:43 of the fourth to move the score to 13-8, before Le Moyne scored a pair in the final 2:22 to seal it.

  • Junior goalkeeper Megan Petko (Monroe, N.Y.) made nine saves.
  • Le Moyne 'keeper Paige Crandall stopped 13 shots.
  • Senior Courtney Cronin (Woburn, Mass.) and graduate student Catie Derhak (Londonderry, N.H.) collected assists.
  • Le Moyne outshot SNHU, 37-29, including 9-4 in the final frame.
  • The Dolphins owned a 14-13 edge in draw controls, while ground balls were even, 21-21.
  • Le Moyne was 17-for-19 on its clear attempts, while SNHU went 15-for-22.
  • The Penmen were 0-for-3 on their free-position attempts, with the Dolphins going 2-for-5.
  • SNHU had 20 of the game's 35 turnovers.
NOTES
  • All seven losses this season for SNHU, which is ranked 25th in the latest ILWomen/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Poll, have come against nationally-ranked opponents.
  • Southern New Hampshire, which earns its 10th NE10 Championship berth, receives the No. 8 seed and will travel to top-seeded Pace University for a quarterfinal matchup Tuesday (May 2) at 7 p.m.
  • Le Moyne leads the all-time series with SNHU, 12-0, including 7-0 at home. The seven-goal margin is the second smallest in the 12 meetings and the smallest in Syracuse. The Penmen lost, 15-9, at home April 30 last season.
