Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) connected for her first goal of the season, but field hockey fell 3-1 at #6 Assumption University in a non-conference game Wednesday night in Worcester.

- Assumption scored the only goal of the first quarter when Marta Brzoska was able to get to a loose ball in front of the Penmen net off a penalty corner.
- A penalty corner led to the second Greyhound goal halfway through the third quarter. Lily Daly scored off a rebound.
- The Greyhounds extended the lead to 3-0 at 50:29 off a steal and breakaway. Elle Murray's pass found Daly at the doorstep for her second goal of the contest.
- The Penmen did connect off a penalty corner at 55:45 leading to the first goal of the season for Bates off a pass from Christis.

- Assumption had a 27-18 shot advantage including 13-9 on goal.
- Sophomore Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) made 10 saves.
- Paige Gillette had eight saves for the Greyhounds.

- Bates tallied her eighth career goal and it was the 18th career assist for Christis.
- With 48 career points, Christis is two points behind Emily Campbell for 4th place on the all-time list.
- This was the first of two meetings during the regular season with the Greyhounds. Assumption and SNHU will play the conference game in Manchester on October 18.
- The Greyhounds lead the all-time series 9-2 with wins in all five games played in Worcester.
- Assumption had opened the season 0-2 with losses to #1 East Stroudsburg and #3 West Chester.
