Senior Ava Jakich-Kunze (Moscow, Idaho) found the back of net in the 60th minute, as the 13th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team edged out Southern Connecticut State University, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Jess Dow Field.

KEY MOMENTS
  • The game was scoreless until 14:49 into the second half when the Penmen played a little pinball to score what wound up as the lone goal. Anderson sent a corner service from the left that sailed to the back post, where Conti headed it back to the near post. Jakich-Kunze ran onto it, sending her own header back to the far post and into the back of the net.

  • Suthern Connecticut 'keeper Kaelen Fabry stopped three shots.
  • Both shots (10-10) and shots on target (4-4) were even.
  • SCSU held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, ranked No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25, is unbeaten through eight contests for the first time since 2021 (8-0-0), when it started 12-0-1.
  • SNHU leads the all-time series with SCSU, 13-11-7. The Penmen are unbeaten in 10 of the last 11 meetings (7-1-3), including the last five on the road (3-0-2).
  • Jakich-Kunze's goal is her fourth of the year in her first season with the Penmen.
  • Keith earned her sixth shutout of the season, including her second straight, as she runs her current shutout streak to 193:05.
  • After never having an assist, Conti now has helpers in back-to-back contests.
