Southern New Hampshire field hockey saw its season end Saturday with a 2-1 double-overtime loss at Kutztown University in the NCAA Division II National Championship quarterfinal. Senior
Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) scored the goal and junior
Emma Peeters (Wageningen, The Netherlands) made 14 saves for the Penmen.

KEY MOMENTS
- Christis found the net with a chip from the left side at 8:19 to play in the first quarter and put the Penmen up 1-0.
- SNHU would hold the lead for the next 36:24, a stretch that would see Peeters make 10 saves without allowing a tying score.
- Kutztown tied the game following a penalty corner with 1:55 to play in the third quarter. On the back side of the play, Sierra Jester received a pass from Juliana Donato.
- The game-winner was a penalty shot by Donato, awarded after some bumping in the box 2:19 into the second overtime.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kutztown had nine penalty corners in the first 15 minutes, an 11-0 advantage by halftime, and 18-0 for the game.
- Peeters made seven first-quarter saves and added seven more including a nice kick save with 4:21 to play in the first overtime on a shot by Grace Harrold.
- The Golden Bears had a 27-2 shot advantage for the game including 16-2 on goal.
- The Penmen worked through two cards, including a yellow card (5:00) which left the team down a player for one-third of the fourth quarter.
- Kutztown goalkeeper Mia Kepler made one save.
NOTES
- Kutztown improves to 3-0 all-time against the Penmen. The Golden Bears won 5-2 on Larkin Field on September 14. At the time, the defending national champions were ranked #1 in the country.
- SNHU played its second-ever NCAA game. Five years ago, on November 16, 2019, Kutztown won at SNHU 1-0 in a shootout.
- The Penmen were ranked sixth in the nation in the final NFHCA poll of the regular season. Kutztown was ranked third.
- Christis finishes the season leading the nation with 30 goals, doubling the previous SNHU mark of 15 in a season. She completes her career as the all-time leading scorer in program history.
- Peeters was in goal for 16 wins this season and 31 for career – both marks rank second in program history to Melanie Rennie (2016-2019).
