Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team saw its season end Sunday, falling 2-0 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Championship at Franklin Pierce University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Franklin Pierce scored the game's first goal with just 1:37 to play in the first half.
- Aino Martikainen received a pass in front of the Penmen goal and sent the shot into the lower right corner to make it 1-0.
- The Penmen found some energy in the 54th minute starting with a strong attempt by Anderson from the left side that saved. She added two more shots in the next few minutes, and the Penmen had the advantage with a corner kick.
- The Ravens flipped the field, with a short by Claudia Peirce saved by Keith.
- Peirce then scored on a header off a nice pass from Ruby Conroy in the 60th minute to put Franklin Pierce up 2-0.

- SNHU had a 25-11 shot advantage over the Ravens, including 11-5 on goal.
- The Penmen had eight corners and Franklin Pierce had four.

- This was the second meeting this season between the teams in Rindge. SNHU had prevailed 1-0 on October 12 in Rindge on a goal by Anderson.
- Franklin Pierce improves to 4-0 all-time against the Penmen in the NCAA tournament including wins in two of the last three seasons.
- The Ravens lead the all-time series with SNHU 29-13-2.
- SNHU made its tenth appearance and seventh straight in the NCAA Division II Championship. The Penmen were denied in the second round for the second straight year.
- Southern New Hampshire was ranked No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25. Franklin Pierce was ranked 24th.
- The Penmen lost only two games this season, which is the fewest since the 1989 ECAC Champions went 15-1-4.
- The Penmen outscored its opponents 26-10 this season.
- SNHU is now 63-26-24 (.64) over their last 113 matches dating back to the start of the 2017 campaign.
