Senior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) found the back of the net twice for Southern New Hampshire University in a 5-2 loss to defending national champion and top-ranked Kutztown University in a non-conference contest at Larkin Field.

KEY MOMENTS
 
  • The Golden Bears took the lead six minutes into the game after Erin Gonzalez scored on a breakaway.
  • Greenleigh McGehee furthered Kutztown's advantage 44 seconds into the second period off a penalty corner.
  • Gonzalez cashed in her second goal to make it a three-goal game 1:06 into the second period.
  • SNHU would cut the deficit down to two after Christis scored her third goal of the season, assisted by sophomore Amelia Crocombe (Somerset, England) at 21:48 into the game.
  • The Golden Bears would widen the lead with a minute and 26 seconds left in the third period after McGehee found the net during another penalty corner.
  • Christis buried her second goal of the game on a penalty stroke that slipped past Kutztown's goaltender, Mia Kepler, with 10:19 left in the final period.
  • Juliana Donato helped Kutztown regain their three-goal lead with 9:12 left in the game.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Penmen became the first team this season to record a shot on goal and a goal against the dominant Golden Bears defense.
  • Peeters made nine saves on 14 shots on goal, while Kepler made six saves on eight shots.
  • Kutztown had 21 shot attempts, with 14 finding the net. SNHU recorded nine shot attempts, eight of which were on goal.
  • Kutztown held the advantage on penalty corners, leading 10-6 in the match.
NOTES
  • Christis scored her third and fourth goals of the season, bringing her team-leading total points up to eight.    
  • This is the second multi-goal game for Christis this season. She previously scored two goals on September 7th vs Pace.
  • This was the second all-time meeting between the programs.  Kutztown won 1-0 on Larkin Field in a shootout in the opening round of the NCAA tournament in 2019.
