Junior Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany) won his singles match, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team opened the season with a 6-1 loss to the College of the Holy Cross on Sunday at the Sinnott Family Tennis Facility.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Roeder defeated Patrick Ling, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5 singles.
- Senior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) and sophomore Jaden Williams (Green Acres, Fla.) posted a 6-1 win at No. 1 over Ling and Alessandro Bizzarri to even doubles.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire had its run of 12 consecutive season-opening victories halted, as it lost for the time since 2011-12.
- The Penmen lead the all-time series with Holy Cross, 2-1, with home victories in both 2013 and 2014.
