Female Athlete of the Week: Hope Hanafin - Women's Track & Field - Fr.
Hope Hanafin (Burlington, Mass.) finished eighth in her first try at 400m in 1:02.42 and also competed in the 200m (28.33) Saturday, as women's indoor track & field took part in the Suffolk Relays at the TRACK at New Balance.
Male Athlete of the Week: Ray Daniels - Men's Basketball - Jr., G
Ray Daniels (Las Vegas, Nev.) tallied 19.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.0 steal, while hitting on 46.2 percent (12-26) of his shots from the field, including 41.7 percent (5-12) from downtown, and 75 percent (9-12) from the stripe, during a 1-1 week for men's basketball. Daniels scored a game-high 18 points (6-11 FG, 4-6 3-FG, 2-4 FT), including the go-ahead layup with 12 seconds to go in regulation, and grabbed a pair of rebounds, in Wednesday's 69-66 victory at No. 24 Assumption University. He then poured in a game-high 20 points (6-15 FG, 1-6 3-FG, 7-8 FT) and corralled three rebounds in a 73-61 loss at Adelphi University on Saturday.Â

Notes:
- Men's ice hockey went 0-1-1 in its first week back after a nearly month off. The Penmen tied Saint Anselm, 3-3, Friday, before dropping a 7-2 decision against the Hawks on Saturday.
- Senior Ryan Clear (Cherry Hill, N.J.), and sophomore Stone Devlin (W. Falmouth, Mass.) and Anthony Marchant (Norwood, Mass.) all tallied a goal and an assist. Clear and Devlin found the back of the net in the lose, while Marchant notched all three points in the tie.
- Sophomore Coleman Nee (Arlington, Mass.) and junior Kurt Watson (London, Ontario) both scored goals in the tie Friday.
- Sophomore Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) made 32 saves in Friday's tie.
-  Sophomore Sean Guerin (Chicago, Ill.) stopped 28 of 35 shots in 56:57 of action Saturday, while senior Cam Bernard (Bedford, N.H.) played the final 3:03 and turned aside the only shot he faced.

Notes:
- Women's basketball split a pair of contests last week, knocking off Assumption University, 59-54, Wednesday, before suffering a 66-65 double-overtime defeat at Adelphi University on Saturday.
- Junior Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) posted 13.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 block per game, while shooting 38.5 percent (10-26) from the floor, including 37.5 percent (3-8) from beyond the arc. Gordon bounced back from a four-point, five-rebound, three-assist performance at Assumption by matching her career high with 23 points (8-18 FG, 3-7 3-FG, 4-6 FT), grabbing 10 rebounds, and blocking a pair of shots at Adelphi.
- Graduate student Stephanie Davis (Windham, N.H.) scored nine points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3-FG) and then set or matched career highs in rebounds (10), assists (6) and steals (3) against the Panthers. She also paced the Penmen against the Greyhounds with 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.

- Men's basketball notched its second straight win against a nationally-ranked team with a 69-66 triumph at No. 24 Assumption University on Wednesday, but dropped a 73-61 decision at Adelphi University on Saturday.

- Women's indoor track & field took part in the Suffolk Relays on Saturday at the TRACK at New Balance. There was no team scoring at the meet, which drew more than 700 women pre-entries.
- Freshman Hope Hanafin (Burlington, Mass.) finished eighth in her first try at 400m in 1:02.42 and also competed in the 200m (28.33).
- Freshman Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) was seventh in the 200m Open Division at 26.87 and she also finished the 500m in 1:23.01 for ninth place.
- Junior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) finished ninth in the 60m prelims in a time of 8.07, just missing the event finals.
- Graduate student Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) finished ninth in the weight throw at 14.11m. She also finished 14th in the shot put at 10.78m.
- Freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) wound up ninth in the 1000m at 3:08.95, a new PR

Completed Seasons
Field Hockey (16-4, 12-1 NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey enjoyed its best season in five years, winning 10 straight matches at one point and climbing as high in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division II National Coaches Poll it ever has at No. 4.
- The Penmen earned the No. 2 seed in the NE10 Championship and were toppled in the semifinals by the eventual NCAA National Champions, Saint Anselm College. SNHU claimed its second NCAA Championship berth as the No. 5 seed and fell to the NCAA National Championship finalist, Kutztown University, 2-1 in double-overtime.
- Senior Annemartine Christis (s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) was named the NE10 Player of the Year, junior Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) was chosen NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year, and Julie Munson was selected as the NE10 Coach of the Year. Christis set new single-season program records in goals (30), assists (14) and points (74), as she led the country in goals and points, while ranking second in assists. Peeters played every second in net, recording 10 shutouts, while stopping 102 of 121 shots for a 0.92 goals-against average (GAA) and a nation-leading .843 save percentage.
- Christis and Peeters were joined on the NE10 All-Conference First Team by junior Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands). Senior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) and sophomore Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeck, Netherlands) were Second Team picks, sophomore Jade Hendriks (Huissen, Netherlands) was a Third Teamer and freshman Natalie Paradzick (Hooksett, N.H.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Women's Soccer (10-2-6, 5-1-4Â NE10)
Notes:
- Women's soccer, which was ranked as high as 10th in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll during the season, began the year with 13 consecutive matches without a loss (9-0-4), tied for the third longest streak in program history.
- The team claimed the No. 3 seed for the NE10 Championship, but was upset in penalty kicks by Saint Anselm College. The Penmen did enough to collect their seventh straight berth to the NCAA Championship and 10th, overall, as they earned the No. 3 seed in the East Region. SNHU rallied for a first round victory over Molloy University, 2-1, but had its season draw to an end with a second round loss against Franklin Pierce University (2-0).
- Junior Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.) became the first Penmen to be named the NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year after rankings second in the conference in shutouts (11) and goals-against average (0.55), and third in both saves (62) and save percentage (.861). She also was recognized with a spot on the D2CCA East All-Region Second Team.
- Keith was joined on the NE10 All-Conference First Team by graduate students Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) and Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.). Anderson, a D2CCA East All-Region First Teamer, led the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists, while Michael was a three-time NE10 Defensive Player of the Week.Â
- Senior Lauren Conti (Schenectady, N.Y.) and graduate student Agata Giani (Milan, Italy) collected NE10 Second Team honors, while graduate student Ava Jakich-Kunze (Moscow, Idaho), and juniors Imogen Noon (Gold Coast, Australia) and Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) were all named to the Third Team. Freshman Sam Torres (Schenectady, N.Y.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Men's Soccer (14-2-3, 7-0-2Â NE10)
Notes:
- Men's soccer put together its best campaign in nearly a decade, as the 14 victories were the most since the 2015 team won 19 matches. The Penmen climbed as high as No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll.
- The team went unbeaten in NE10 play to capture the regular season crown, before also collecting its eighth NE10 tournament title. The Penmen garnered the No. 2 seed in Super Region 1, as well as a bye in the first round, when it secured its 24th NCAA Championship bid. They played to a 1-1 draw with seventh-seeded Post University in their second round matchup, but suffered a 7-6 loss in a penalty kick shootout.
- SNHU placed an impressive six on the D2CCA East All-Region First Team, including NE10 Player of the Year Iago Perez (A Coruña, Spain), NE10 Defensive Player of the Year Liam Evans (Rock Hill, N.Y.), NE10 Goalkeeper of the Year Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) and NE10 Rookie of the Year Gabriel Castro (León, Spain). Fellow NE10 All-Conference First Team selections Martin Zapata (Pamplona, Spain) and Haroun Conteh (Glendale, Ariz.) also received the honor.
- Head coach Josh Taylor also earned his first NE10 Coach of the Year accolade, as the Penmen became the first team to ever sweep all five NE10 major awards. Senior Philipp Herrmann (Bruckmuehl, Germany) was the seventh member of the squad to find a place on the NE10 First Team.
- Sophomore Alex Pons (Castellón, Spain) received a Second Team nod, while graduate student Martin Fuentes (Pamplona, Spain) and junior Alejo Caceres (Córdoba, Argentina) were recognized with Third Team selections.
Women's Volleyball (9-17, 4-6 NE10)
Notes:
- Women's volleyball won three of four at one point, and four of six down the stretch, to earn the No. 6 seed in the NE10 Championship. The Penmen saw their season end with a 3-1 loss at the third-seeded University of New Haven.
- Senior Julia Cavalcanti (Vineyard, Utah) was chosen for the NE10 All-Conference Third Team after ranking fifth in the league in service aces (42) and 12th in hitting percentage (.267). Freshman Addie Garn (Gilbert, Ariz.) earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team, as she placed seventh in the conference in aces per set (0.47) and ninth in assists per set (5.82).
Cross Country
Notes:
- Women's cross country finished as the runner-up at the NE10 Championships and placed ninth at the NCAA East Regional Championships. While the team did not qualify for nationals, junior Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) did, as her time for the 6k was 22:05.6, a new PR, and good for third place. She and freshman Paige McInerney (Acton, Mass.) earned USTFCCCA East All-Region status. Obernesser completed the 6k at the NCAA National Championships in Sacramento, Calif. in 23:56.9, finishing 229th at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course.
- Obernesser earned NE10 All-Conference First Team honors, while McInerney was a Second Team selection and was joined by sophomore Deirdre Bailat (North Billerica, Mass.). Freshman Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.) collected Third-Team All-Conference honors.
- Men's cross country finished sixth at both the NE10 and NCAA East Regional Championships. Junior Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) also qualified, individually, for nationals, as he finished fourth at regionals, running a personal best for the 10k in a time of 31:30.5. He and sophomore Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) earned USTFCCCA All-Region recognition. Labonte finished 227th in the 10k race at nationals in 33:31.8. Following the race, Labonte was awarded the prestigious NCAA Elite 90 Award, which goes to the athlete with the highest grade-point average (GPA) at each of the NCAA's 90 Championships.
- Labonte was also an NE10 First Team choice, while Sekaya was a Third Teamer.
