Ryan Kayser (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored 44 seconds into overtime to give Southern New Hampshire Ice Hockey a 3-2 win over Assumption University on Saturday at The Ice Den.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen gained the upper hand on a goal by Hirschberger at 2:04 of the first period. He potted a rebound off a shot by senior Connor Ball (Webster, N.Y.). Freshman Dillon Phillips (Raleigh, N.C.) earned the secondary assist.
- Assumption drew even on a power-play goal by Jonathan Surette at 18:21 of the first. He scored on a rebound off a shot by Patrick McKiernan.
- Neither team scored in the second period, but the Penmen were fortunate after playing short-handed most of the final eight minutes of the second. The Greyhounds had a 30-11 shot advantage in the period including a 12-7 edge on shots on goal.
- SNHU took the lead on a power-play goal by Slingerland at 11:24 of the third period. Kayser earned the assist on the goal.
- Skating with an extra attacker, the Greyhounds tied the game at 2-2 at 19:53 on Surette's second goal of the game.
- SNHU won the game in overtime on a goal by Kayser, who took a pass in the 3x3 situation from junior Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ont.).

- Each team scored a power play goal. The Penmen went 1-for-4 and the Greyhounds finished 1-for-5.

- Lynch leads the Penmen with 16 points and his 12 assists are tied for third in the NE10.

- Phillips, playing in only his fourth game of the season after an injury, collected his first career point on the first period assist.
