Men's Tennis Takes Doubles Point, but Falls to Queens (N.Y.), 4-1

Senior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) and sophomore Carlos Molero (Barcelona, Spain) clinched the doubles point with their win at the top flight, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Queens (N.Y.) College on Wednesday at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • No. 1 doubles: Nadeau/Molero def. Lucas Foix Sotos/Loup Alleno, 6-4
  • No. 2 doubles: Roeder/sophomore Albert Modol (Lleida, Spain) def. Alexis Gibiard/Caleb Brightman, 6-4
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire had won two-in-a-row for the first time since it won three straight Oct. 2-17.
  • Queens leads all-time series, 8-4, and has now won two-in-a-row. The triumph also snapped a three-match road losing streak for the Knights, who had not recorded a victory in New Hampshire versus the Penmen since Feb. 26, 2016 (6-3) at the YMCA Allard Center of Goffstown. With was their first win at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.

  • The Penmen are back in action Saturday, April 19 (1 p.m.) when they play host to in-state rival Franklin Pierce University at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
