Senior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) secured a 3-3 tie with his win at the top singles flight, but the third-seeded Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to second-seeded Franklin Pierce University on Saturday afternoon in the semifinals of the NE10 Championship at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • No. 1 singles: Nadeau def. Joe Herin, 6-3, 0-6, 6-4
  • No. 5 singles: Sophomore Carlos Molero (Barcelona, Spain) def. Orlando Guerrero, 6-4, 6-3
  • No. 6 singles: Freshman Noah Cadilhac (Montpelier, France) def. Hugo Diaz, 6-4, 6-2
NOTES
  • The match came down to No. 3 singles, with Ralph Hiebel pulled out a three-set win over junior Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany), 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
  • Southern New Hampshire had advanced to the NE10 Championship final for the last three seasons.
  • SNHU still leads the all-time series with FPU, 19-6, and has captured five of the last eight, but the Ravens have now won three meetings for the first time ever. All three wins were 4-3 victories this season.
