Men's Tennis Trio Receives CSC Academic All-District Team Accolades

All three are eligible for Academic All-America recognition

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Sophomore Vicente Preto (Sesimbra, Portugal), junior Carlos Molero (Barcelona, Spain) and sophomore Marcos Castaneda (Madrid, Spain) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team were recognized with Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, honors last week.

Preto adds to his list of accolades, which include NE10 All-Conference Second Team at No. 1 singles and NE10 First Team at No. 1 doubles. Preto went 12-8 this season, including 10-7 at the top flight and an impressive 7-1 in the NE10. He was 11-11 in doubles play, including 6-3 in the league. Preto is a business administration major with a 3.90 grade-point average.

Molero was an NE10 First Team pick at No. 3 singles. The business administration major with a 3.93 GPA went 12-7 this season, including 11-6 at No. 3 and 7-2 in league play. He was also 14-8 in doubles and 6-4 in the conference.

Castaneda, an economics and finance major with a 3.91 GPA, was an NE10 Second Teamer at No. 5 singles. He was 14-4 on the year, including 9-3 at No. 5 and 7-1 in league play. Castaneda was 4-10 in doubles, but 4-4 in the NE10.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists, which Preto, Molero and Castaneda are, are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 3.
