NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Junior
Andrew Surprenant (Boscawen, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team was chosen the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 29, the league office announced Wednesday.
Surprenant captured a pair of individualist honors last week. Surprenant turned in a 6-under 138 to win the Granite State Opener last Thursday at Beaver Meadow Golf Course, as SNHU placed second. Surprenant carded a 2-under 70 to sit four shots back in second place after Wednesday's opening round, before rallying with a 4-under 68 that catapulted him to a three-shot victory. He then fired a 3-under 67 to finish atop the leaderboard at the Penmen Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Concord Country Club, as SNHU also placed first.
Surprenant has now won all three events the Penmen have competed in this season.
Surprenant and the Penmen return to action Oct. 7-8 when they take part in the Saint Anselm Invitational at Candia Woods Golf Links.
