Matt Perper joined the Southern New Hampshire University baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2016.
A native of Rockland County, New York, Perper previously served as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator at Iona College for three seasons. Under his guidance, the Gaels produced several All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) selections and saw significant improvements in nearly every offensive category.
Prior to his time at Iona, Perper was the hitting coach and third-base coach at his alma mater, Western Connecticut State University, from 2009 through the 2013 season. Under Perper's tutelage, the Colonials' offense set numerous records and ranked in the top-10 national in multiple categories. In 2012, Western Connecticut led all of NCAA Division III home runs per game. Perper also mentored Conor Bierfeldt during his career at WCSU, a two-time All-American and selection of the Baltimore Orioles in the 2014 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.
Perper was also the head coach of the Harrison Patriots in the Westchester-Rockland Wood Bat League. In 2012, he led the Patriots to the WRWBL Championship.Â
He currently resides in Manchester, New Hampshire.
