Cam Whelan

Cam Whelan joined the SNHU field hockey coaching staff in 2023 after an impressive collegiate playing career with the Penmen, where she participated in 27 games and showcased her scoring ability by netting 7 goals and contributing 2 assists for a total of 16 points. Notably, she played a pivotal role in the 2019 season, helping the team reach the NE10 Championship and make it to the NCAA first round for the first time in program history. As a senior captain in 2021, Cam demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong commitment to her teammates.

A native of Seabrook, New Hampshire, Cam’s dedication to academics and athletics earned her recognition as a member of the 2018 Zag/NFHCA Division II National Academic Squad. For her outstanding achievements in both the classroom and on the field, she was honored with the 2022 NE10 Presidents' Award.

In addition to her playing experience, Cam began her coaching career with Seacoast Field Hockey in 2021, where she focused on developing young athletes' skills and fostering a love for the game. She holds a Level 2 USA Field Hockey Coaching Certification, reflecting her commitment to coaching excellence. In July 2024, Cam was honored with the 2024 Legends Award from Seacoast Field Hockey, recognizing her significant contributions to the program and her positive impact on young athletes on and off the field. Currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sports Management, Cam is passionate about promoting player development and encouraging long-term engagement in physical activity among athletes.
