Brooks McQuade was hired as the seventh head coach in the history of the SNHU men's ice hockey program April 6, 2026, bringing more than 17 years of experience in hockey coaching, recruiting, and player development, along with a proven record of competitive success and student-athlete advancement at the prep, junior, and collegiate levels.
McQuade joins Southern New Hampshire following a highly successful tenure as Head Coach of Boys' Varsity Hockey at Tilton School in Tilton, N.H. A 2004 graduate of Tilton School, McQuade returned to his alma mater in 2009 and took over the hockey program in 2015, compiling an overall head coaching record of 144-116-9, guiding multiple championship teams, and placing more than 60 players into junior and NCAA college hockey programs.
Among the highlights of his coaching career, McQuade led Tilton to the 2018-19 New England Championship and earned Prep Coach of the Year honors from the New England Hockey Journal, along with Coach of the Year recognition from the Lakes Region League Athletic Directors. His teams also captured Lakes Region League titles and multiple Brooks–Pingree Holiday Tournament championships.
As Southern New Hampshire Ice Hockey Coach, McQuade will oversee all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, practice and game preparation, and overall program operations.
In addition to his prep school success, McQuade is the Owner, Head Coach, and General Manager of NH Granitemen Hockey, a spring and summer AAA showcase program he founded. Under his leadership, more than 40 alumni have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division I, II, and III levels.
Along with his extensive hockey experience, McQuade brings a strong background in business and leadership. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire in 2008 and later completed an MBA in Finance and Investment at Plymouth State University in 2013.
