Kyle MacDonald begins his first year with the Penmen in 2016-17 after a four-year career as a goaltender at Division I St. Lawrence University.

At St. Lawrence, MacDonald was a two-time All-Academic Team honoree and also a two-year member of the Saints baseball team.

Prior to St. Lawrence, MacDonald played two years for the Bay State Breakers in the Eastern Junior Hockey League, posting a combined .927 save percentage and a 2.63 goals-against average.

MacDonald graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Mass., where he captained both the hockey and baseball teams. On the ice, his 2007-08 team was the first in school history to qualify for the prestigious MIAA Super 8 Tournament. He then went on to play in two more prior to his 2010 graduation.

MacDonald, who currently resides in Manchester, has been heavily involved with the Bay State Breakers youth program, as well as the Mike Sullivan Hockey School. He is also a USA Hockey Level I, II and III coaching instructor, speaking about both goaltending and practice planning.
