Travis Scheyd returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach in 2017 and has been a part of one of the most successful stretches in Southern New Hampshire University men's golf history. Working alongside head coach Matt Arvanitis, Scheyd has helped the Penmen continue their tradition of excellence, contributing to multiple Northeast 10 Conference championships, NCAA regional appearances and national postseason success.
Scheyd's connection to the SNHU golf program spans more than two decades. A former Penmen student-athlete, he competed for Southern New Hampshire from 1999-2001 and was a member of the program's first Northeast 10 Championship team in 2001. That squad also featured Arvanitis, who earned Northeast 10 Player of the Year honors while helping lead the Penmen to the conference title. Having shared the experience of competing together as teammates, Scheyd and Arvanitis have helped build a coaching staff rooted in the program's championship tradition.
A native of Allenstown, New Hampshire, Scheyd attended Pembroke Academy, where he starred on the Spartans' golf team before graduating in 1998. He continued his golfing career at SNHU, helping establish the foundation for a program that has grown into one of the Northeast's premier Division II golf programs.
Since joining the coaching staff, Scheyd has played an important role in mentoring student-athletes and supporting the development of a championship culture that continues to connect the program's proud history with its present-day success.
