Brooke Russell

Brooke Russell joined the SNHU Department of Athletics as its Campus Recreation Administrator in February 2022.
 
In her role, Russell is charged with the oversight of SNHU's recreation programs, including the Fitness Center, group fitness, intramurals, club sports and special events.
  
Prior to her arrival in Manchester, Russell worked for a year as the assistant director of intramural sports at Stanford University, where she planned, managed and assessed the intramural sports program, including budget oversight, staff management and program marketing.
 
Russell spent the previous two-and-a-half years at Northeastern University as the coordinator for intramural sports and marketing. There, she developed and scheduled programming, managed daily operations of the recreation center, directed the entire student staff, handled the budget and created marketing materials.
 
Russell began working in campus recreation, while pursuing her undergraduate degree at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She held various roles as a front desk associate and fitness center attendant, as well as intramural official and supervisor, and RecKids camp counselor and supervisor. She also spent 2016-17 as a professional intern in the department, hiring student staff, maintaining schedules/results and rosters through IMLeagues and assisting in budgeting.
 
Russell has been a member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) since 2018, serving on its Creative Excellence Award committee in 2021, as well as its Region I Registration committee in 2019.
 
Russell earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, with minors in psychology and nutrition, from UMass Lowell in May 2016. She also received her Master's degree in Sports and Recreation Management from SNHU in February 2018.
