Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) put together an absurd week at the plate for baseball, as the Penmen went 4-0. Burgos hit .632 (12-19) with three home runs, 12 RBI and six runs scored. Burgos, who slashed a ridiculous .696/1.316/2.012, had seven of his 12 hits go for extra bases, while he also drew four walks and swiped three bags. He had three or more hits in three of the four games, including Sunday's 16-2 win over Saint Michael's College when he went 5-for-6 with a pair of RBI and a run scored. In Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Purple Knights, he finished 6-for-9 with two home runs, eight RBI, four runs scored and three walks, as he homered in each game – tying the program's single-season record in the opener, before establishing a new mark with his 15th long-ball of the year in game two. The 15 home runs are the most in the NE10 since 2019. Burgos was named the NE10 Player of the Week earlier Monday.
