Verena Weindl (Munich, Germany) was named the NE10 Championship Most Outstanding Player, in addition to earning a spot on the NE10 All-Championship Team, as women's tennis went 2-0 last week to capture its first NE10 Championship title since 2012-13. Weindl made quick work of Adelphi University's Caterina Federici, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 singles. She and freshman Alina Kupfer (Munich, Germany) also scored a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles against Amanda Franstedt and Katarina Liedbeck. With the match tied, 3-3, against Franklin Pierce University in the final, Weindl beat Zoe Asterio Correa, 6-4, 7-6 (7-0) to bring home the title. She also was part of the only SNHU doubles win, as she and Kupfer doubled up Maria Penalver Aguilo and Aynara Ferraz, 6-3, at No. 2.
