SNHU, NYACK BATTLE TO 1-1 MEN'S SOCCER DRAW

BOX SCORE

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire University and Nyack College battled to a 1-1 men's soccer tie at Larkin Field Wednesday afternoon.  The draw pushes the Penmen's record to 3-4-4 on the season, while the Warriors are now 5-5-2 on the campaign.

Nyack would get on the board first as Tim Conway (Billerica, MA) fired a 30 yarder that found the back of the net to make it 1-0 at the 12:10 mark.  The Penmen would tie the score at the 68:33 mark when graduate student Simon Kearney (Barrow-upon-Humber, England) dribbled into the box, beat two Warrior defenders and fired an eight-yarder past Nyack keeper Peter Murphy (Cape Coral, FL).

Southern New Hampshire outshot Nyack 15-4, including an 11-2 advantage in the second half and the two 10-minute overtime periods.  Sean Lambert (Rehoboth, MA) made one save for the Penmen, while Murphy stopped four shots for the guests.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday evening when it hosts The College of Saint Rose in a 7:00 match at Larkin Field.
