MANCHESTER, N.H. - Southern New Hampshire University and
Nyack College battled to a 1-1 men's soccer tie at Larkin Field
Wednesday afternoon. The draw pushes the Penmen's record to
3-4-4 on the season, while the Warriors are now 5-5-2 on the
campaign.
Nyack would get on the board first
as Tim Conway (Billerica, MA) fired a 30 yarder that found the back
of the net to make it 1-0 at the 12:10 mark. The Penmen would
tie the score at the 68:33 mark when graduate student Simon
Kearney (Barrow-upon-Humber, England) dribbled into the
box, beat two Warrior defenders and fired an eight-yarder past
Nyack keeper Peter Murphy (Cape Coral, FL).
Southern New Hampshire outshot
Nyack 15-4, including an 11-2 advantage in the second half and the
two 10-minute overtime periods. Sean Lambert
(Rehoboth, MA) made one save for the Penmen, while Murphy stopped
four shots for the guests.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Saturday evening when it hosts The College of Saint Rose in
a 7:00 match at Larkin Field.
