MEN'S SOCCER BLANKED BY NO.
7 DOWLING
BOX SCORE
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Two goals in a span of 6:43 midway
through the first half lifted No. 7 Dowling College to a 2-0 men's
soccer victory over Southern New Hampshire University Saturday
afternoon at Larkin Field. The Golden Lions improved to 5-1
on the season, while the Penmen now sit at 2-2-3 overall.
Dowling would get on the board in
the 27th minute when Carl Rydin fired a laser from 30 yards that
found the upper right corner of the goal past a diving Dan
Pelc (Hamilton, ONT). At the 33:29 mark, Robert
Miller delivered a high crossing pass into the box that Marcus Come
was able to head home for the 2-0 advantage.
Dowling goalkeeper Nemanja Veljovic
was not forced to make a save en route to the shutout, while SNHU
keeper Pelc made one save.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action September 22 when it travels to Southern Connecticut State
University for a 3:00 contest.
