BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Southern New Hampshire University
volleyball team posted a split in a tri-match hosted by the
University of Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon. The Penmen,
who improved to 4-3 overall with the split, fell to the host Purple
Knights 3-0 (30-22, 32-30, 30-27) before defeating University of
the Sciences in Philadelphia 3-2 (30-23, 30-25, 25-30, 26-30,
18-16).
In the win over the Devils,
Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, NY) had 16
kills, two solo blocks and seven block assists. Jamie
Rood (Southbury, CT) had 12 kills, while Casey
Stoodley (Salem, NH) registered 12 digs, nine kills and
five service aces. Nicky Dumond (Tewksbury,
MA) had 22 assists while Kelly Scanlon (East
Providence, RI) had 19.
Against the Purple Knights,
Stoodley led the Penmen with nine kills and 11 digs. Dluginski
totaled seven kills, while Briana Doucet
(Danville, NH) had nine digs and five kills. Scanlon handed
out 28 assists.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Sunday when it travels to Felician College for a 1:00 match.
