MANCHESTER, N.H. - Nicole Buchholz (Ashburn, VA) totaled
12 kills as Franklin Pierce University held off a furious Southern
New Hampshire University rally to post a 3-2 Northeast-10 women's
volleyball victory Wednesday night at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
The Ravens, who won the first two games before surrendering the
next two to the Penmen, improve to 7-8 and 2-2 in league play,
while the hosts are now 5-5 and 1-2 in the league.
The game scores were 30-27,
30-25, 27-30, 17-30, 15-10.
Karissa Hookstadt
(Camarillo, CA) finished with eight kills and 21 assists and 10
digs for FPU, who also got eight kills apiece from Michelle
Koike (San Francisco, CA) and Diana Rutt
(Dayton, NV). Lindsay Burrill (Salem, NH)
had 23 digs while Emily Schultz (Salem, WI) had
22.
For the Penmen, Brooke
Lefort (Cumberland, RI) and Stephanie
Dluginski (Floral Park, NY) led with 15 kills apiece while
Jamie Rood (Southbury, CT) had 11.
Brianna Doucet (Danville, NH) totaled 32 digs,
while Kelly Scanlon (East Providence, RI) was the
leading setter with 23 helpers.
Southern New Hampshire is idle
until Tuesday, September 25, when it travels to Bryant University
for a 7:00 match. Franklin Pierce hosts Queens (NY) Friday
evening.
