Men's Basketball Falls at
Nyack

NYACK, N.Y. - Sam Carey (Manchester, NH)
finished with 28 points for Southern New Hampshire University but
the Penmen fell to host Nyack College 83-64 Monday
evening. SNHU saw a four-game win streak snapped and is now
9-8 overall, while the Warriors are 8-10 on the season.
Carey was 12-15 from the floor but
was the lone Penmen in double figures. Chase
Miller (Fairfax, VA) and Troy Bowen
(Nashua, NH) each finished with nine points. Brian Roberts
led Nyack with 22 points.
Nyack jumped out to a 10-0 lead
just three minutes into the contest and held a 22-12 lead when the
Penmen made a 7-0 run to make it 22-19 on a Carey basket with 5:44
before intermission. The Warriors responded with seven
unanswered points of their own and held a 35-29 lead at halftime.
The hosts outscored Southern New
Hampshire 17-4 over the first five minutes of the second half to
take a 52-33 lead on a Roberts basket. The Penmen would get
no closer than 12 points the rest of the way.
Nyack outrebounded SNHU 40-24 and
committed just 10 turnovers as opposed to 18 giveaways for the
Penmen.
SNHU returns to action Thursday
night when it hosts top-ranked and unbeaten Bentley in a 7:00
contest at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
