Schippers Leads Men's Soccer Past Caldwell 3-0

BOX SCORE

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Adrian Schippers (Ashby, MA) totaled two goals and an assist as host Southern New Hampshire University scored three times in the final 21 minutes to post a 3-0 men's soccer victory over Caldwell College at Larkin Field Saturday afternoon.  The Penmen remain unbeaten at 2-0, while the Cougars are now 1-1 on the season.

Despite outshooting Caldwell 10-1 in the first 45 minutes, the game remained scoreless until Schippers, in his first season at SNHU after spending two seasons at Springfield College, scored with exactly 21 minutes to play, putting home a feed from Gabe Mercier (Middleboro, MA).  Schippers struck again 3:12 later when he scored on an assist from Michael Adam (Ludlow, MA).  Adam would then close out the scoring, notching the Penmen's third goal in a span of 6:40 at the 75:40 mark when he scored on an assist from Schippers.

Sean Lambert (Rehoboth, MA) earned the win in goal for SNHU, turning aside one shot in 80:30 of action before being relieved by Joey Kapinos (Ludlow, MA), who was not forced to make a save over the final 9:30.  John Plaugic (Kearny, NJ) played the first 83:42 in net for the Cougars and made four saves, taking the loss.

SNHU outshot Caldwell 18-5, including a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal.  Over the first two games of the season, the Penmen have outshot their opponents 44-7, including a 20-1 advantage in shots on goal.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Wilmington (DE) University for a 1:00 contest.
