Men's Soccer Runs Win Streak to Five, Downs Dowling 2-0

BOX SCORE

BROOKHAVEN, N.Y. - Paulson Edum (Calabar, Nigeria) totaled a goal and an assist as visiting Southern New Hampshire University scored twice in a span of 58 seconds midway through the second half as it defeated Dowling College 2-0 in men's soccer Saturday afternoon at Golden Lions Field.  The Penmen, who have now win five in a row and have shut out four of their last five opponents, improved to 7-1 overall, while the Golden Lions are now 3-2 on the season.

Edum would get Southern New Hampshire on the board at the 71:12 mark.  Michael Adam (Ludlow, MA) delivered a cross into the box that Edum headed home to give the Penmen a 1-0 advantage.  Just under a minute later, Edum would feed Ransford Shand (Brooklyn, NY), who scored from five yards out on the right side and snuck the ball inside the far left post.

Sean Lambert (Rehoboth, MA) turned aside six shots for Southern New Hampshire to earn his fourth shutout of the season.  Dowling, which outshot SNHU 12-11, got four saves from Nemanja Velijovic.

SNHU returns to Northeast-10 play on Wednesday afternoon when it travels to Stonehill College for a 4:00 match.
