Volleyball Splits at USP Tri-Match

PHILADELPHIA - The Southern New Hampshire University volleyball team split a pair of games as part of a tri-match as University of the Sciences Saturday.  The Penmen, who are now 3-6 on the season, topped Post 3-1 before falling to the host Devils 3-2.

In the first game, the set scores were 24-26, 30-28, 25-23, 25-18.  In the second game USP was victorious by scores of 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 28-26, 15-11.

Against Post, Brianna Doucet (Danville, NH) led the Penmen with 13 kills, while Jamie Rood (Southbury, CT) and Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, NY) each totaled 12 kills.  Allison Murphy (Montague, MA) had 23 digs while Ashley Dingle (Malone, NY) had 17 and Doucet 11.  Kim Rowe (Exeter, NH) handed out 16 assists.

In the nightcap, Dluginski had a team-high 17 kills while Murphy added 12 to go along with 12 digs.  Dingle had a team-high 28 digs while Nicky Dumond (Tewksbury, MA) totaled 15 digs and handed out a team-high 20 assists.

SNHU returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to UMass Lowell for a non-league match at 7:00.
