BOX SCORE

NEW CASTLE, Del. - Host Wilmington University scored just over 12 minutes into the second half to break a scoreless tie and would go on to post a 1-0 men's soccer victory over Southern New Hampshire University at the Kirkwood Soccer Complex Wednesday afternoon.  The Wildcats, who were the preseason favorite in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) coaches poll, improve to 2-0-1 overall, while the Penmen are now 2-1-0 on the season.

After the two teams kept each other off the scoreboard in the opening 45 minutes, Selekie Kamara would score the game's lone goal 12 minutes into the second stanza when he blasted a shot from 30 yards out that found the upper right corner of the goal.  Fatoma Turay assisted on the tally.

Ethan Kavanagh recorded his second consecutive shutout for Wilmington and made one save.  SNHU keeper Sean Lambert (Rehoboth, MA) went the distance and did not make a save.  His scoreless streak, which dated back to last season, was snapped at 416 minutes, 20 seconds.

Wilmington outshot Southern New Hampshire 7-2 for the contest.

SNHU returns to action Saturday when it hosts Saint Thomas Aquinas College in a 1:00 game at Larkin Field.
