New Haven Charges Past Volleyball 3-0

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven posted a 3-0 Northeast-10 volleyball victory over Southern New Hampshire University at the David A. Beckerman Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon. The win was the ninth in a row for the Chargers as they moved to 12-3 overall (5-0 NE-10). The loss drops the Penmen to 7-4 overall (1-4 NE-10). The set scores were 25-11, 28-26, 25-17.

Sara Malmlov led the Chargers with 12 kills and also added eight digs, while teammate Keidy Candelaria had 11 kills and 12 digs. Heather Ladao registered a team-high 14 digs, and Chelsey Alpough dished out 33 assists in the win.

Stephanie Dluginski (Floral Park, N.Y.) led Southern New Hampshire with 10 kills, while Caitlin Wilson (Milton, N.H.) recorded a team-high 18 digs. Erica Solomon (East Islip, N.Y.) had six kills, while Kristin Wilson (Milton, N.H.) led the Penmen with 13 assists. Lauren Lorenz (Frankfort, Ill.) chipped in with three kills, eight assists, and eight digs on the afternoon.

The Penmen return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Bentley for a Northeast-10 contest at 7:00 p.m.
