MANCHESTER, N.H. - Tenth-ranked Southern New
Hampshire University scored three goals in the first half en route
to a 3-0 Northeast-10 men's soccer victory over Le Moyne College
Sunday afternoon at Larkin Field. The Penmen won their fourth
in a row and posted their third straight shutout to improve to 5-1
and 2-0 in the Northeast-10, while the Dolphins are now 3-1-1 and
0-1 in the league.
The Penmen got on the board in the
29th minute when Adrian Schippers
(Ashby, Mass.) scored off a feed from Ruben
Resendes (Fall River, Mass.). Danny
Hernandez (Salem, N.H.) also assisted on the goal.
SNHU made it 2-0 when P.J. Burnette (Brunswick,
Maine) followed up his initial attempt that went off the post by
collecting the rebound and scoring. Southern New Hampshire
struck again with 17 seconds remaining before halftime when
freshman Christian Rodriguez (Manchester, N.H.)
scored, with assists credited to Jayme Kapinos
(Ludlow, Mass.) and Ethan Lapierre (Manchester,
N.H.).
Sean Lambert (Rehoboth, Mass.)
played the first 67:11 in goal for SNHU and was not forced to make
a save before giving way to Joey Kapinos (Ludlow,
Mass.), who made one save the rest of the way. Le Moyne
keeper Steve White made three saves. The Penmen generated a
commanding 27-6 shot advantage on the afternoon.
Southern New Hampshire hits the
road for the first time this season Wednesday when it travels to
Stonehill College for a 4:00 contest.
